Astronomy Pictures of the Fortnight: Venus transit edition

As this NASA animation explains, they come in pairs, 8 years apart, and then won’t happen again for 105 years. (Last one was in 2004; next one in 2117)

No shortage of cool images from all over the world.  Below are a few of my favorites.  (Here in central Florida we had rain, so… none of my own.)
